With over 30 years of experience as a pattern and product designer, I specialize in Black cultural aesthetics and diasporic visual traditions — creating large-scale ceramic tile installations and site-specific works that transform museums, cultural institutions, and public spaces into living legacy experiences.
My background spans large-scale public art commissions and site-specific installations for cultural institutions, museums, and public spaces. That depth of experience means I know how to collaborate with architects, interior designers, art consultants, and institutions while bringing a distinct creative vision — work that speaks to the architectural envelope of a space without being defined by it. My Process
Every commission begins with deep listening. Before a single mark is made, I research the history, cultural traditions, and visual heritage of the community the work will live within. That research becomes the foundation for a symbolic language rooted in Black cultural aesthetics and the diasporic traditions that have shaped my practice across Africa, the Caribbean, and the Americas.
The result is work that feels specific: not decorative, but documentary. Not applied, but integral to the space.
Culture & Craft
Every tile is hand cut and carved — one by one, in my studio or in collaboration with trusted fabrication partners — allowing the work to scale to the demands of any architectural context without losing the intimacy of the handmade. Every object is handbuilt or wheel thrown, each one carrying the mark of its making.
Who I Work With
I collaborate with architects, interior designers, art consultants, curators, public art committees, and cultural institutions to create site-specific installations that carry cultural meaning for the communities who gather within them.
